Malayalam cinema is in shock as filmmakers Ashraf Hamza and Khalid Rahman have been arrested for possession of hybrid ganja. The incident occurred during a raid conducted by the Kochi Excise Department in the early hours of Sunday, April 27, 2025, around 2 AM, where approximately 1.63 grams of the substance were seized.
The two directors, along with their associate Shalif Mohammed, were apprehended in a flat near the Gosree Bridge in Kochi, raising eyebrows in the film industry. Following their arrest, they were released on station bail.
