This agreement, which underscores the importance of mutual respect for each nation's sovereignty and a strong commitment to resolving conflicts through peaceful negotiations, is viewed by Qatar as a significant and constructive move towards enhancing stability and peace in the region.
Qatar appreciates the proactive engagement and dedication to dialogue and diplomacy, which demonstrate a sincere intention to reduce tensions and promote the welfare of the citizens of both nations and the broader region.
Qatar acknowledges the diplomatic initiatives led by the United States, which are part of the wider efforts of the international community to address the conflict and foster security and stability in the Great Lakes region.
These initiatives align with the advancements made during the joint summit of the East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on February 8, 2025, as well as the trilateral discussions among the leaders of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of Rwanda, and the State of Qatar, which took place in Doha on March 18, 2025.
