A 17-year-old boy is facing murder charges in Wisconsin after allegedly killing his mother and stepfather.

Authorities report that the teenager lived in the same house with their remains for two weeks.

Nikita Casap appeared in court on Thursday afternoon after Waukesha County prosecutors charged him with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide for the deaths of his mother, Tatiana Casap, and stepfather, Donald Mayer.

“First-degree intentional homicide; these are the most serious charges we have in our legal system,” stated Waukesha Circuit Court Judge Ralph Ramirez.

According to court documents, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Casap residence on Cider Hills Drive on February 28 for a wellness check.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the bodies of both Mayer and Tatiana Casap, which were covered with blankets and pillows.

Nikita Casap was apprehended in Kansas on March 1 during a traffic stop, where officers found a firearm belonging to Mayer, along with credit cards, jewelry, and surveillance footage.

Investigators noted that Nikita Casap was captured on surveillance video lighting candles near Mayer’s body and stating, “So you can see him there. I can literally see the rotten body there.”

Additionally, officers discovered messages on Nikita Casap’s cellphone indicating communication with a Russian individual regarding plans to flee to Ukraine.

“He has been in contact with someone in Russian about relocating to Ukraine after these crimes, raising concerns that he may be a flight risk if released,” prosecutors expressed.

In court, Nikita Casap’s bail was set at $1 million.

Authorities also indicated that the teen faces charges for stealing his stepfather’s vehicle and a handgun.
