Padma Bhushan recipient Ajith Kumar extended his condolences to the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack shortly after being awarded India's third-highest civilian honor.

The actor was presented with the Padma Bhushan on April 28, 2025, during a ceremony in New Delhi, where he expressed his joy upon receiving the award from President Droupadi Murmu, with his wife Shalini and their children by his side to celebrate the occasion.

In the wake of the tragic Pahalgam incident on April 22, 2025, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists at Baisaran Valley, Ajith Kumar took a moment to reflect on the tragedy. He shared his sorrow and offered prayers for the bereaved families, stating, “My heart goes out to all the families affected, and I sincerely hope that such incidents do not recur. I trust that the government is doing everything possible. Let us remain hopeful and pray for a future where we can all empathize with one another, setting aside our differences to coexist peacefully.”

Ajith also paid tribute to the Indian armed forces, acknowledging their unwavering commitment to the nation's safety. He remarked, “I had the privilege of meeting several armed forces personnel today. I want to express my deepest respect for their sacrifices. They work tirelessly to ensure our safety and peace. My thoughts are with them and their families, and I wish them a fulfilling life. In their honor, we must learn to respect one another and embrace all religions and castes, fostering unity within our country.”

On the cinematic front, Ajith Kumar's latest film, Good Bad Ugly, has garnered significant success at the box office, featuring a talented cast that includes Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Jackie Shroff, Sunil, Yogi Babu, among others.
