A horrifying incident has emerged from Punjab, Pakistan, where Zara Qadir, a pregnant woman in her 20s, was reported missing last week. Tragically, her dismembered body was later discovered in three bags, leading to the identification of the remains as Zara.
The gruesome event took place in Daska, a town in the Sialkot district, situated about 100 kilometers from Lahore. Law enforcement has arrested four individuals, including Zara's mother-in-law, Sughran Bibi, along with her daughter Yasmin, grandson Hamza, and a relative named Navid.
Zara, who had been married to Qadir Ahmad for four years and had a three-year-old son, had recently returned to Pakistan after living in Saudi Arabia with her husband. Sughran Bibi confessed to the crime, claiming she believed Zara was practicing 'witchcraft' and was angered that her son had started sending money directly to Zara's bank account instead of to her.
Reports indicate that the suspects smothered Zara with a pillow while she was asleep, disfigured her face, and then dismembered her body before disposing of it in a drain. It was also revealed that Zara was pregnant at the time of her murder.
Following a statement from Zara's father, who suspected Sughran of wrongdoing, police interrogated her, resulting in her confession. Sughran is also the sister of Zara's father.
This case reflects a disturbing level of jealousy, as Sughran and Yasmin not only took Zara's life but also gruesomely dismembered her body out of resentment, believing that Zara's attractiveness had caused Qadir to overlook them. A murder case has been filed against the suspects involved.
