The second Qatar-United Kingdom Strategic Dialogue took place on Sunday in Doha, co-chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs HE David Lammy, under the theme "Partners for the Future."

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the two nations across four key areas: future prosperity, security, justice, and the relationship between their peoples. This was facilitated through eight specialized working groups covering defense, security, counterterrorism, trade and investment, science, technology and innovation, development, mediation, culture, education, heritage, and health.

Additionally, the meeting introduced a new working group dedicated to technology, science, and innovation, as well as another focused on health. The talks explored avenues for enhancing cooperation in emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. intelligence, including their applications in healthcare and the management of health data


The conversation also focused on enhancing collaborative efforts to tackle global challenges, initiating the inaugural meeting of the development working group, and forming a task force dedicated to mediation.

The two parties examined several regional and international matters of shared interest, especially the recent events in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, the ongoing attempts to restore a ceasefire agreement, and strategies to ease the restrictions on humanitarian aid entering Gaza.

Additionally, they reviewed the current situation in the Syrian Arab Republic, the mediation initiatives spearheaded by the Sultanate of Oman between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, as well as the discussions taking place between the United States and the Russian Federation.


During the event, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the second Qatar-United Kingdom Strategic Dialogue signifies the mutual commitment of both nations to enhance their strong partnership and broaden their collaboration in various sectors. This includes actively contributing to global challenges, especially in resolving conflicts through peaceful methods, facilitating humanitarian and development aid, and building capacities to promote peace at both regional and international levels.
