Kyiv.
A Ukrainian delegation is set to arrive in London on Wednesday for discussions aimed at establishing a ceasefire, as officials from Europe and the United States advocate for an end to Russia's military actions, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
These negotiations will build on a previous meeting held in Paris last week, where US Secretary of State Marco Rubio outlined Washington's strategy for resolving the ongoing conflict that has persisted for three years.
US President Donald Trump has been urging all parties to agree to a ceasefire, yet he has struggled to secure significant concessions from the Kremlin, despite ongoing talks and a temporary truce declared by Russia's Vladimir Putin during the Easter period.
"Starting this Wednesday, our representatives will engage in discussions in London. Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States -- we are prepared to advance in a constructive manner," Zelensky stated on X on Monday.
"An unconditional ceasefire should be the initial step towards achieving peace," he emphasized.
While Zelensky did not specify the attendees, Rubio had previously indicated that a US delegation would be involved.
